Terms of Use

1. What Ekulihiso is
Ekulihiso is a literary platform where writers publish poetry, chronicles, prose, short stories and novels, and where readers read, comment and vote in the Ekulihiso Prize. In this phase, the platform serves Angola.
2. Your account
- You don’t need an account to read. You do to comment, vote, request books or publish.
- Each person may have only one account, and each mobile number may be linked to only one account.
- You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for what is done with your account.
- Minors need the permission of their parent or legal guardian.
3. Copyright
- Copyright in every work always belongs to its author. Ekulihiso does not acquire ownership of any text.
- By submitting a work, the author grants Ekulihiso a free, non-exclusive licence to publish and display it on the platform and to share excerpts, credited to the author, on social media and in promotional material for the platform and the prize.
- Authors may withdraw a work at any time; the licence ends upon withdrawal. Works entered in a prize edition can only be withdrawn after the results are announced, so as not to disrupt the vote.
- The author guarantees that the work is original, their own, and that they have the right to publish it.
4. Rules of conduct
You may not publish or comment content that is plagiarised, incites hatred or violence, defames anyone, exposes other people’s personal data or is unsolicited advertising. Works and comments may be moderated, declined or removed, always with the reason given to the author.
5. The Ekulihiso Prize
The prize is decided solely by public vote, under the rules of each edition. Any attempt to manipulate the vote — fake accounts, buying votes, automation — leads to the cancellation of the votes concerned and may lead to the exclusion of the works and the closure of the accounts involved.
6. Books and Amazon
- Books are sold through Amazon. Ekulihiso takes no payments on the site.
- Links to Amazon may include an affiliate tag: when you buy through them, Ekulihiso may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you.
- “Order for Angola” requests are only quote requests: payment and delivery are arranged directly with the team.
7. Liability
The platform is provided as is. Opinions expressed in works and comments are the responsibility of their authors.
8. Changes
We may update these terms. When a change is significant, we will give notice in advance and ask for your acceptance again.
